Ministry Opportunities at First Mennonite
The wide number of ministry opportunities are divided up into six core ministries. Each ministry has a chairperson that is part of our Church Council.
Worship
The Worship ministry tends to planning and resourcing worship and music for Sunday morning services.

Worship Music, Floral decorations, Recording of Worship Service, Projector/Sound, Christmas Eve Service

Hospitality
The Hospitality ministry tends to welcoming, including, and connecting with people within and beyond the congregation.

Stewardship
The Stewardship ministry tends to maintaining and using property, finances, and physical resources faithfully.

The Care ministry tends to caring for needs and encouraging people in the congregation and to giving guidance to matters of membership and baptism.

Care Needs, Everence Representative, Visiting those in nursing homes, shut-ins and hospitals

The Discernment Team tends to discerning and encouraging the gifts, talents, and interests of the members by asking the vital question, "What are our resources?" and presents for congregational approval the slate of Church Council Members each year.

The Vision Team tends to visioning and goal setting by asking the vital question: "Where are we going?" and provides counsel and accountability to the pastor.

Care Portal/Foster Care
The church partners with Care Portal to meet local needs of families identified by local agencies, including foster care, DCF, schools, and Peace Connections. We have a Care Closet with a children's clothing newborn to size 14/16 and bedding needs. Our main focus is on Harvey County needs and communities just outside of the county limits.
FMC also serves as a Connecting Church, receiving donated resources to meet additional needs.
