A little bit more about the church...

First Mennonite Church of Halstead was organized in 1875 under the leadership of Christian Krehbiel and is a member of Mennonite Church USA and the Western District Conference. Currently we have about 100 active members who gather for worship, fellowship, service and outreach.

Members participate in a number of activities within and outside of our church doors. Some of these activities are listed below.

Within the doors:
Sunday School
Women's Bible Study
Fellowship Meals and Activities
Verenike Supper (raises money for Missions)
Missions Supper (raises money for Missions)
Waffle Breakfast (raises money to assist with local utility bills)
Young Mom's Group
Kids Club (Wednesdays in the Spring and Fall)
Wednesday Evening Adult Studies
Vacation Bible School
Other ministry activities

Neighbor's Store
Church Picnic
Hog Roast
Annual Golf Tournament
Halloween Howl (serving hot dogs at the Fire Station)
